Reminiscing On The Recent 2025 Military Ball

03/29/2025

Every year, as spring approaches, something special happens in our AJROTC community. The Military Ball emerges as a signature event that so many cadets eagerly await - some even choosing it over prom because it perfectly captures the tight-knit vibes and discipline we all remember from our JROTC days. This year’s gathering was no exception. We came together once more, and the alumni table added an extra flair to the evening…bringing old stories, warm laughter and familiar faces that made the night like a homecoming.

The Alumni Table, Sponsored by The Digital WOW

The story of our Alumni Table began with a heartfelt gesture from Paul Ramkissoon, Class of ‘93 and a former Cadet Colonel. One day, he simply wondered and asked his good friend Louis Cordero, “Was there room for us and could we re-engage somehow with the unit via the Military Ball?” And just like that, a wonderful tradition was born. Paul, through his company, The Digital WOW, went all in and started sponsoring a whole table for the alumni every year. What started as a thoughtful gesture to gather former members now shines as our North Star. Our alumni table represents-

      -  Community that bridges generations of cadets

               -  Collaboration that continues even after graduation

                       - Commitment that runs deep

A Night To Remember

This year's turnout brought numerous unforgettable moments for all of us. Seeing familiar faces alongside first-time attendees made the evening particularly special for everyone involved.

A Place for Alums to Reconnect

Our mission at AJAA is to support each other in whatever way we can. We love having fun, sharing memories and preserving the legacy of the unit that means so much to us. The alumni table at the Military Ball offers the perfect spot for all former cadets to sit back and enjoy that familiar atmosphere, and at the same time drink a toast to the journey and growth we’ve all had along the way. At our table, we had in attendance -

• Class of 1998 Cadet CPT Hector Zupo accompanied by Maria Zupo
• Class of 1996 Cadet LTC Louis Cordero (current AJAA President) and Atlantic Graduate Melissa Campanile
• Class of 1999 Cadet SFC Mariana Lindsay accompanied by Rick Lindsay

In case you missed the ball, keep in mind our picnic is in April.  Hope to see y’all there!
