Like many of us, PJ Dombrowski, formerly PJ Moser, joined the Eagle Battalion out of a desire to be part of a meaningful community with like-minded people. Now, more than 30 years after graduating from high school and leaving the Army JROTC, PJ is ready to be part of a new community- a group of former cadets known as the AJAA (Atlantic JROTC Alumni Association). Taking up the role of Second Vice President, she is eager to find out what doors she could help kick open for Army JROTC cadets who might need some guidance. She is also thrilled for the opportunity to hear from friends she bonded closely with decades ago.
PJ’s Background with JROTC
PJ joined Army JROTC in her freshman year of high school. As many other former cadets would probably attest, JROTC taught PJ invaluable skills that she has been able to use in her career and life. She developed strong leadership skills, learned how to deal with people and the importance of good sportsmanlike behavior, especially upon defeat. These characteristics have served her well through a long and fulfilling career in the field of corporate finance.
PJ’s Achievements in JROTC:
- PJ completed four years of JROTC at Atlantic Community High School in Delray Beach.
- She acquired the highest rank possible (Cadet Colonel).
- She was in charge of the Eagle Battalion in her senior year.
- She attended at the same time as Paul Ramkissoon, President of AJAA, and Louis Cordero, First Vice President of AJAA.
AJAA’s Mission of Reuniting Friends
AJAA has a simple mission – reconnecting alumni of Army JROTC, having fun together and helping the unit we all love. AJAA allows you to relive cherished moments with your long-separated friends. You make memories together, talk about all the old stuff, have fun and share your life experiences. As part of AJAA and in her role as Second Vice President, PJ is looking forward to the opportunity to make an impact on the lives of the current cadets.
“I really feel that we can help open doors for people who might not already have those doors open for them. They are young, they might have taken a misstep in life and they might need guidance. We had each other’s backs then [as cadets] and we’re gonna have their backs now as part of our alumni group.” — PJ Dombrowski, Second Vice President, AJAA
Personal Life
The Army JROTC has been responsible for changing PJ's life in more ways than one. It is also where she met her husband of 20 years, Tim. The two are high school sweethearts, who’ve been together for a total of 28 years. During their leisure time now, they enjoy indulging in a wide range of do-it-yourself projects at home, fixing anything that needs attention. They are also highly passionate about exercising. PJ loves working with her hands in the kitchen too, describing herself as an excellent cook.
“Reconnecting with long-lost friends after 30 years brought a lot of joy and fulfillment to my life. It's great to be part of something important with like-minded people. The program provided so much value to me as a cadet. I’m sure that it will add value to my life again as an alumnus.” — PJ Dombrowski, Second Vice President, AJAA
The AJAA is for all former cadets, whether you were in the first cadet class of 1985 or a recent graduate. Join AJAA for an incredible opportunity to connect with fellow ACHS Army JROTC alums. It’s FREE to join!
